Couldn't resist. Newegg has a $40. rebate on them maybe because the black one is coming out?

Make sure to get AT LEAST a 512MB high speed memory card for your camera. It doesn't come with any card and you don't want to make the mistake I did by only getting a 256MB card for it. Again, have fun Bud! <img src="/metal/html/biggrin.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":D">

I am going to get a 1MB card this weekend, but a 512 is the smallest I would recommend. As far as a specific brand I'll forward that when I get home as I don't have that with me at work. Just don't buy the standard SanDisk brand as their R/W speeds are very slow. The problem is that with 256 I bought I get less than 30 pictures in RAW mode and about 75 in JPEG large format. You can compress more but why buy a 6 mega-pixel camera if your going to compress everything. I'll post the exact brands that I have found work well later tonight.

The brand that I bought at the camera store that I really like is "PROMASTER". I also bought a 256MB SanDisk card for my Nikon at "Best Buy" as well. There is no comparison between the two for speed, the ProMaster wins hands down. I included a link below to the DPReview site that lists the differences in speeds between different memory cards for cameras.

Now I have to plow through the manual since I've never owned a Canon camera. I had the Olympus system way back when I used to shoot professionally.
Advice and hints are more than welcome!!
John
