Good Luck? Last night after I won the tee shirt and hat, not an hour later, my son runs my hunting rig under the back of a truck in a howling whiteout...one of those tow trucks with the flat plate back? He ducked at the last moment, or he would have for sure been killed...He's got a busted collarbone and sort of torn up, but alive....for some strange reason, I took both my detectors out of there this past weekend, or they would have been destroyed...I Never take them out? so I guess I was lucky after all...

I just got back after getting whats left of my gear out of there..found my clad stabber and all the little sundries....now, I gotta go hunt down a rig...just had liability on it...

Kids are just like potholes, an annoyance when they are small, but when they get big, they wreck your car!

You can move this post Elton, I just thought my Fisher bros would like to see this! Before and After

The rig can be replaced .......... I hope he recovers quickly .......

Wow Mud, Your gonna need to figure out how to notch out tow trucks in the winter.:nono:----------------Glad he's allright

Man...close one.
Glad he was not hurt even more...and heals quickly.

That's a real bummer anytime, but truly glad your son wasn't hurt worse then he was. Tis the season to be thankful, for sure. HH jim tn

[attachment 280689 tr5.jpg]Thanks guys...Very Thankful the kid wasn't killed...sort of mad about the whole deal though.:ranting:..Yeah, I'm bummed..that was an honest little car...had 250k on it, still going strong... traded my redwood paddleboard, and Beretta auto shotgun for it last December after the same kid blew up my Nissan Remember?

Been running around all day ahead of the snow trying to find something to replace it with...In all MY time driving, I've not ever wrecked a car, (OK so once, and yes it was my Dads, back in the 70's, on the ice, was drunk as a skunk, took 'er right down into the ditch, and folded it in half, but never wrecked one since!) My Family makes fun of me because I will not go out for any silly reason in bad weather, or during the hours when the deer are moving.. "its just not prudent" "it can wait until tomorrow", etc...matter of fact, I probably could get ticketed for driving "too SLOW for conditions"

Wide range of emotions, from thankfulness, to anger, frustration, generally defaulting to humor.:heh:..as a Man, we have to clean up after everybody elses accidents all the time? Keep things running, bring in the dough? I need a shot of George Bailey in "Its a Wonderful Life" right about now....or maybe just a shot of some Baileys in my coffee would do the trick! Yeah...! Sheesh! After reading what I just typed, I'm a bad Father and a real sap trying to help the kid!
dang that was a good looking truck, and that board too...

Mudpuppy, Thank God that it was not worse the wheels can be replaced and your son is your family. I hope everything works out alright By the way I enjoy your posts Have a Merry X Mas Ezra.

I know the feeling, your gratefull he made it out with some hard learned experience,... you hate having to fork out for another solution.

Been there, done that with bikes, motorbikes, cars, vans and a few rebuilds.
Once they produce kids of their own, they turn into traffic analist preachers!!

It's a fact of life,... they bump to learn.

Sorry to hear about your ride Mud and I hope your son has a speedy recovery. - Jim

Sorry Mud.

At least your family will be together for Christmas . Good luck on the hunt , detecting and for the rig ,,

I feel your pain... our daughter totaled 2 vehicles in the last 6 months.... no injuries or even all that much damage but its getting old.... I gotta drop her from my insurance or pay double... we can pick our noses but we cant pick our kids..

Mine drove my Ford Bronco round a bend and into a herd of deer. One in the Windshield, one into the passengers window, and one Buck with Antlers right smack dab into the front and radiator.

He ducked in time but got whacked by the deer that crashed the passenger window. Totaled the Bronco.. Straight in line ran great but the tailgate and floor pan was rusted out bad.

Son got away with a bruised arm and face. Trooper said the herd had gotten bold and decided the roadway was theirs to graze from...

He learned a lot and has never had an accident since...

Wishing your son a speedy recovery.

Hey Mud, glad to hear the chip off the old block came out of it almost in one piece. I know how you feel. Gave my son a my Toyota Corona coupe way back and he almost immediately rolled it over doing donuts in the school yard. I found out 6 months later that there were two other kids with him.
Somebody up there likes us!
