I bought my home for 25 thousad dollars. NOBODY will insure it for less than 149 thousand dollars. Nobody can tell me it costs that much to build a 1200 SQ ft home. Is the basement and the land going to burn up also? I can buy most any house in this one horse town for under 50 thousand. So WHY can't I just make a park out of my land and buy another house? CROOKS

Where I live one doesn't have to inshure a house if there is no mortguage. I did this with my previous house when what i'd paid in realstate taxes and house insurance (total) exceded what i'd bought the house for. And lived there another 15 yrs. Then sold it for more than 10 times what i'd paid for it. It's risky to do so, guess i was just lucky.

It will be paid off Jan 2013 and untill then I have to cough up over 650.00 each year

You'd have a better chance finding "The Lost Dutchman"........"The Beale Treasure".........and "The Treasure of Oak Island".....all on the same day !

Insurance companies have plenty of loopholes to bypass paying for many things that happen to a home just like income taxes have loopholes for the rich and famous! I have paid enough insurance to have a really nice home if I had put the money into my home instead of the ins. co! But like spouses, ya can't live with them and ya can't live without them!   Ma
