I figured my daughter needed another machine to keep her away from boys
I owned a similar Master Hunter CX model and I regretted selling this model years ago to buy my GTI 1500, so I got another one. Maybe I am going through a midlife crisis :lol.
The old model had an analog meter on it along with the old 8 inch "Crossfire Coil." I found a lot of deep coins with it and some cool relics in the woods. I sold it to someone and used the cash towards my GTI 1500. The CX was designed with relic hunting in mind and was always a favorite of Mr. Garrett. It doesn't have all the bells and whistles that the GTI 2500 has. The CX is quiet and doesn't talk to you. No sizing on this baby either. Just a discriminate mode and a true all metal mode. But then it costs a whole lot less then the GTI 2500 too.
The side panel had two knobs to turn so you can set your discrimination. There is also a set of instructions for a quick reference. The user has the ability to adjust the sensitivity and flip back between discrimination mode and true all metal mode.
The old needled analog meter is now replaced with a new digital one. It still gives you a cursor at the probable target, in both disk and true all metal mode. It also gives a depth reading too. The old "crossfire Coil has been replaced with a 7" x 10" PROformance coil. This coil should give me a little more depth due to its extra length.
Now the day it arrived, our temperatures plunged to below -20C, so I have been anxiously waiting for a test run in the woods. Well, that hasn't happened yet. I did play with it a bit in the house, and it did pick up my gold wedding ring at 9", a pull- tab at 10" and a tiny staple at 2". The best test is a test in the field.
If anyone else is/has been using this machine, your comments would be greatly appreciated.
