Just picked up my new CTX about a half hour ago. Ordered the 6" coil as well. Ordered some SunRay Pro Gold headphones and a cover system from Ron at Windy City Detectors. Got that stuff yesterday. I am ready to get home and get started putting it together and get it charged. Had to sell one of my Excal's and my Explorer Se Pro to make it happen but have no regrets so far. Still have one Excal and my ATPro. I guess time will tell on that. I'm confident that I'll pick it up pretty quick. Already watched all the videos on the resource forum and the Minelab site and probably every post going back a couple weeks. I'll hopefully be posting all the great finds as soon as all this snow is gone. Wish me luck, Joe.

You're going to have a blast using the CTX. The only thing that may be confusing, is all of the settings. Looking forward to seeing all of you finds.

You won't be disappoint Joe. Learn the machine and you'll never look back.

welcome to the forum Joe. I think it would be awfully difficult to find a form with more useful information on it regarding the CTX

Congrats on new machine. It's just an awesome unit! The controls become very intuitive in just a few hours of hunting. My first weekend with it, I used it at night on the beach. It it just felt perfect from the minute I picked it up! Good Luck and HH! Get the 17" monster coil if you dare! It's a beast!:beers:

I don't know about that? My Whites XLT has still got me over the barrel with all of the settings available and I've had that since 1999.
I found the CTX settings waaaayyy easier to understand and work with. Soooo many less settings on the CTX and them make more sense too.

A great machine for sure, and should bring many great finds on the Delaware coast....Just stay away from the ruff waters....And I think you made a good choice on the 6 inch....

Well I got it put together and charged up last night. Was really easy to put together. Everything seems pretty straight forward. Menus and settings are very user friendly. Got the Exchange2 loaded and even made a mode to try out. Created a new folder on my PC and downloaded a couple modes from the resource forum. Was really surprised at how easy everything is. Really like the wireless module and the SunRays. Need this weather to cooperate so I can get out and take it on a test run. Thanks to everybody that responded. Joe

Good luck with the new detector!

Good luck with the new CTX Joe!

Have you got the chance to take it out yet? The weather here is keeping me from detecting.

No, hasn't even been outside yet. Going out with it tomorrow to an old spot I've hunted before. Property dates back to the 1700's. Found a lot there with my Explorer including a 1787 Conn Copper. Hope to find some coins that the Explorer missed. Thanks, Ed, hoping you like the Explorer. Joe

Okay, hope it goes well. That is a really old property and it probably is still holding some goodies. Nice find too.

Thanks, the weather is supposed to be good with temps in the mid 50's. I'm actually starting to second guess myself. Thinking I might want to go to my old school yard spot to get the hang of the detector before going an hours drive south only to find out I have no idea what I'm doing. If nothing else I can do both. I'm hoping for the best. We'll see. Thanks, Joe

Hope You have better luck out of the box then I did, mine is on the way back for replacement. Good Luck!
