Well if I’m only going to find one coin…..

Decided to go hit that old city park before the game today. Figured if the ground was thawed just enough maybe I would find something…..
Made last minute decision to put the 6” coil on the Legend and simply take a wandering but slow approach. Set her up to run 4khz and let the fun begin!
Only found one coin in just over two and a half hours. Typical junk, pull tabs, a small speaker about the size of a dime, nails. No clad, no zincolns, just a dang Barber dime.
It was a screaming hit too. Odd part was it was only detectable at one angle and only from one direction. VDI was just above a typical 46 dime signal and I was afraid it was maybe a deep bottle cap but dove in and at 6” I saw silver! Thought Rosie or Merc but surprised by the Barber, a 1909D with just a few of the letters on her band readable. I figure it could grade between VG8 and F12 so happy.
Now home watching the game and sipping on a beverage!!!!

I would take that any day, good find

I bet there have been numerous detector coils over that Dime in the past but you had faith. And The Legend.

Been over that with everything from the F5, F75, and now the Legend with the 11” DD. First time with the Legend with the 6” and 4khz. Also watched an 800 and a CTX3030 work thru there.
Slow as hell but the Legend has been a game changer.

She sure is a beauty! You do extremely well with the Legend in 4khz. Have you ever tried switching to multi frequency to see how they react on the same target?

I have run M1 / F in multi on first run thru an area with 11” and then come back with 6” where finds have been picking up. I’ve also noted VDI numbers change a bit so try and lock on to sounds and numbers. Also, if pinpointing shows a very small footprint then 99% of the time its a coin or a button or a €#*£! folded over aluminum beavertail 😂

Those are always a shock to find. I found a 1906 I think it was under a pecan tree in a friends yard In Summerville SC. His home was built in 2002 but the old pecan trees had been there for a very long time. Made my day and I’m sure that one made yours.
