Well, I went out yesterday.

It was 36F in northern Michigan. Went back into the pine plantation where cellar holes are. Was out for a couple hours, In the field the snow was to the knees. In the pines it was 4" and a little packy (like making snowballs or snowman). Sweeping the coil thru the snow was bit like swinging your coil thru water. I was using my Gold Bug Pro w/ 5x10dd and a friend was using an Advantage w/8" coil. I hunted with disc at 29. Didn't find much. It was a little hard going. I found the locking buckle and my friend found the other thing right when we were leaving. The item my friend found says Trombona made in Germany. There is other stuff on it include a sailboat design you can't see.

So here's what we found.

Sweet finds, how did you like the coil?

The coil is working great. With all the snow I was thinking I should have put the 11"dd on but the 10dd was hitting hard on targets even with all the snow. I think it's going be hard to beat using the 10"dd. On really deep soft peeps I was switching to all metal to check the target. I don't think I'm loosing anything over the 11dd.
