Well, I Took The Plunge !!!

Now I have no excuses for not finding goodies. At least that is what my better-half is saying. I purchased an Excalibur 1000 today. I didn't get to go to the beach (darn it) as I had to travel to South Florida & deliver a generator and as much gas/supplies as my truck would hold to my 3 children & 2 grandkids in Ft. Lauderdale. Looters had stolen one of my kids gasoline & gas cans (the scumbags).
Talk about a war zone down there!! LONG lines of folks trying to get gas at the few stations that are open. Trees, power lines, and debris all across the roads. You're tempting fate trying to get through intersections because very few traffic lights are working or even there. I felt like I was back in grade school playing dodge ball !! Idiot drivers.
Thank God that all of my offspring came through unscathed and that only material things were damaged.
Tomorrow I'll hit the beach here in Daytona and hopefully will be able to post about all the riches that I should now find !!!

HH,

I was able to hit the beach here in Daytona today. It sure was cool & windy (by Florida standards, at least).
Within 5 minutes of getting on the sand, I pulled out my first IH/Buffalo nickel. Unfortunately the date was worn off. Then I pulled out my first silver dime, a 1964 Roosevelt. A little while later I pulled a South African 2 Rand and an English Five Pence.
Talk about beginners luck. No gold yet but I have a feeling that it won't be long.....
