F5 arrived yesterday....this am took it out for about an hour....very happy with the machine...nothing brilliant today, found one of each or our current coins (i.e. 5c to $2)..had everything except a $1 coin, and was thinking just that, when the audio gave a very definite and attention-grabbing sound, and I duly completed the set. The numerical ID on Aussie coins is the same as the F4, but different to the Omega and the Gold Bug Pro. Am looking forward to trying it in all metal on the beach in a month or so. My first choice of locations was not available today (being mowed), so I was pretty happy with the way it performed at choice No.2. Having the constantly updating ground phase is an interesting feature, and one which is very useful, even in parks and such. Had to be careful with the disc knob (it kept riding up the scale), but it wasnt a worry and something like that helps to keep the mind on the job. HH Pete.

Took it out for about 2 hrs this am (Sunday)...learnt that when it hits with little or not variation in the readout, usually a coin...one instance there was a aluminium screw cap which read as a $1, and very stable...removed the screw cap and found a $2 about 6" away. Very happy with the way it's performing and the depth I'm getting...found one coin where a hole had been dug (and refilled)...previous guy just hadn't gone deep enough. Nothing but coins, but it did very well in an area which gets thrashed. HH Pete

Thanks Elton, I have been thinking (and reading) about it for some time now, and thought "Do I want to die wondering?" and answered myself "NO!!!" I like it already...It has the same tone arrangement as two of my other detectors, but with the ability to hunt in one, two, three or four tones (like one of my other detectors). But it has different features to all other detectors I have, and I am enjoying and appreciating those features already (a few hours in the field). Would it be everyone's cup of tea? I dont know...but I do know, that of all the coins I have found so far, none have been on the surface, and all at varying depths. Depth seems to be no problem, as the deeper coins gave strong and accurate signals. I like it. (Please dont ask me how deep it goes, as I did not measure any of the holes I dug, and I am sure it will go deeper than it has for me so far). HH
