my fuel pump!!!!!!

After 30 years of great service  my fuel pump started leaking, been leaking for about a month now because I could smell gas every now and then but thought it was just normal for a old car.

I took my cheve in for a oil and lube today and the mechanic pointed it out, sure enough, the old fella was leaking, I ask the mechanic if there was any way of saving the old fella and the mechanic looked at me and said, RAY, IT'S 30 YEARS OLD!!! TIME TO MOVE ON!!! hahaha

I hope the new fuel pump is as good as the old fella, it sure has some pretty big shoes to fill :lmfao:

it has crossed my mind before but after 30 years of great service at the cost of $5500 new it;s kinda hard to part with a great running car, a friend in did for 30 years.

<center> my buddy had a newer 60-70 era chevy with a 282 or 283 cant remember but man he use to sit in neutral and floor that thing and put it in drive and it always gave a lil squeel
Never killed the tranny or the driveshaft or the motor...
He had a chevy blazer he tried that with all the time and twisted the drive shaft off the rear all the time, many a days we would unhook the broken shaft and put er in 4wheel and drive home
Man the good ole days for sure

I use to love the Dodge Dart push button on the dash automatic for a winter car :D
could drive along and hit the reverse button on the dash and lock er up and floor it and never damaged it :D
Slam snow banks and get up on 2 wheels and cruise till you came down on all 4 again or slowely tipped over on it's side
Man wish I had a camera back then
