Well I put the 350 together nd it's light as a feather and will be a joy to swing..

Thought the DD coil would weight it down but Garrett came through again with a feather weight DD coil that you hardly know is there. One can spend many hours swinging this puppy without wearing themselves out. Old Charlie and crew done it again. Once again he has raised the bar for the competition and they'll have to really scramble to catch up. When the AT hits the scene the bar will be much higher. Can't wait for that innovative puppy.

Yeh I heard Garrett is now using a lighter epoxy for there coils now therefore they weigh less, esspecially those big DD's.

Uncle willy,
Looking forward in hearing more on your thoughts and the Ace 350. I always liked DD coils
Nw the real question is.. Is it any better than the Ace 250 in detecting with the DD?

Though not a huge deal, I was hoping they'd relocate the headphone jack. The included headphones have a 90* end which helps. If I don't like it I'll just relocate the jack like I did on my 250.

I'd been kicking-around the idea of getting the larger coil for the 250 as well, so the 350 took care of that with the added bonus of the higher freq, and having a 2nd detector for an extremely fair price.

If I start getting the MDing withdrawls, and don't have any "older" spots to hunt, I'll hit a park (or similar public area), but I prefer researching older sites (long-gone schools, churches, homes, etc.), so generally speaking it won't bother me that bad. I've dug more than one "iffy" signal that paid-off.

I had my V4 pinpointer mounted on the stem of the 250, and I've since got a ProPointer what fits nicely into my pouch, so I figure my 350 won't weigh any more than the 250 (with the piggybacked V4) did....I'm sort of an ogre anyways

All you have to do is draw back the coil and as the target goes off the tip, if it's a bottle cap, it will give an iron signal. I wish screw caps wre as easy to work out.(Fortunately, the GTI can!.)
