Looking forward to the thaw! Should have a few months to seek out a good machine. The area I've moved to is old( menominee,mi) and their should be some good finds here, but no Civil War stuff  I'm hopeing to make one of my goals to find a US large cent! There should be some good water hunting here as well as I'm on Lake Michigan.

Don't give up on CW relics in Menominee. Here is a link to get you started. No battlefields that I know of but you might have some CW camps nearby and soldiers went to war and some returned bringing with them uniforms and who knows what. You wouldn't think of Central Illinois as a Civil war site either, but we had many training and POW camps here, one right here in my own town.
