today i took my golden umax to hunted out church and came away very surprised :detecting: just for the heck of it cause i only had about an hour to search i maxed out the sensitivity, maxed out threshold and the discrimination was set at the mark below nickle. now at this setting i heard some chatter but i was listening for any high or medium pings amongst the ground noise. the total today was a nice 1882 indian head cent and 6 wheats. not bad for a worked out site. Congrats on the old coin finds !

Whenever the ground is stable and not too noisy I run max sensitivity for maximum depth. After a while even when it is a little noisy you will pick out the good signals.

Congrats on the old IH.

It pays to experiment, even with a familiar machine.
