Hey Bill....do you think Garrett would ever produce a detector that gives you a number reading. Like some of the competition's models? I'm definately a fan of the current models, but I would'nt mind trying one with that set-up. Heck...if they did make one I'm sure I would buy it.
It's hard telling bud what they might have up their sleeve. They might go down that path someday soon but I imagine Charles will stick to simplicity and ease of use for now. Would be different though.
I just can't see moving the frequency that little bit and adding a DD coil would do much for the detector other then the coil helping in ground mineral's. Most detectors used for relic hunting are much higher in frequency like 13khz. Most of the newer ones have super clock speed on recovery between targets and really reach down and grab the deep ones. Will the 350 do all that ? Time will tell but I don't think it will. I'm all for light weight and being good priced but will it hang with the big boy's .....That's yet to be answered.
Terry in PA is right, a slight change in frequency and adding a DD coil isn't going to make much difference in performance than the ace 250 or to justify an almost 100.00 price increase. The ace 350 will be more of a newbie detector rather than a serious relic machine. most serious relic hunters already own a more sophisticated detector than the ace 350 so I don't see them trading down to the ace series machines. just my .02.......
