Well, I guess it was to cold for relics and the AT PRO....

Got out today in 20 degree temps(wind chill around 10). The only find of the day was a 1920 Wheatie then the PRO started acting up again. VDI flashing wild, depth meter maxing out and could not ground balance. Just like before I thought it was the coil and swapped it out with my other one. I change batteries, turned off my cell phone, etc. This time I made a video of the problem in action and I will send the SD card in with the detector. I would post the video, but I just don't know how. I don't even know how to shrink it to e-mail it to Garrett. I one of those computer illiterate kind of guy's. Here are some photos of the out doors at least. I did find a candle wick holder and a bottle with a funny screw cap with spout on top. I'll keep you all posted.

Has anybody asked Garrett if there is a temperature operating range for the At Pro? Has anybody used theirs in lower temperatures?

John Edmonton uses his in cold weather, but he tapes a heat pack over the battery compartment.

I had my AT Gold out today, no heat pack, temps about 30 degrees(NJ) and no problems at all. Gonna try again tomorrow, this was my first inland run with it. Just found some clad but in trashy areas I think this small tight DD coil is gonna be great. Need to get a bigger one for the beaches though, or might just get an AT pro also:detecting:

Cool hunt!:garrett::detecting: Neat finds! Sorry to see that you're having troubles with your machine. Hope you get it under control.
Best of luck to ya! Happy Hunting!:)

Mine did the same as your and it was 17 degrees out . It worked fine for about a half hour and the started to act up . I have used it several times after that and did not have a problem . I did change the battery's The times I was out after that the temps were in the 30 .

Called Sue and she said send it in along with a SD card that I video the problem out in the woods. A video says a lot more then words. LOL!! No problem though, I still have my AT GOLDS for next weekend.!!!
