Well, I finally stopped at a gas station this weekend to fill up my tank, I still had 1/4 tank of gas, last time I filled up was on May 6th, everywher

Royal always said you was a tight sucker; maybe your fuel pump was good, you were just low on fumes!

Drive on the top half, don't go below a 1/4 tank, because of the gaspump fear. Newer vehicles ( my '92 Dakota had it anyway) have the blankety-blank fuel pump IN the fuel tank, for no good reason that anyone has been able to explain to me, other than cooling.Guess I went low too often, $600.00 later, would have been nearly a $1000.00 had I not got a jobber pump for $150.00; dealership wanted over $500.00 for the pump in the plastic jacket or shroud. Package deal... yeah right!

Recently heard of some new vehicles having a different rip-off; the pump goes, pitch the entire tank and slap in a new tank and pump combo.
