and have been trying to get back in the swing of things since that time. I have not had time to check the Forum since before I left. I did make a few replies on some of your posts, but of course, they are behind the times!! We had a good conference [The Alabama Association of School Resource Officers (TAASRO)Safe Schools Conference]. We had some really good presenters and most attendees said this was the best we have ever had. We had the largest attendance we have ever had. I took my Tiger Shark with me and I used it a couple of times, but only managed to find 5 zinc pennies, 5 hotel room keys and 1 toy car. All were found on the dry sand. The water was too rough for me to hunt in the surf. Another one of the attendees asked me if I found anything, because he only found 78 cents. He talked to a man he didn't know who told him he had found 2 watches and a bracelet (my friend didn't see those things). I have taken my detector every year for the past 8 or 10 years and have never found a single piece of jewelry and not all that much change. I have much better luck at fresh water beaches, because I can hunt in the water.
Since I have been back I have returned to patrol and was assigned the busiest beat, so I have been really busy and when I get home I am worn out!! I also had to go to Jefferson County Sheriff's Department's firing range yesterday to do my semi-annual pistol and shotgun qualifying. I was a little upset with my first time through the pistol course because I only shot an 80 out of 100 (a 76 is required to pass). The second time through was much better since I shot a 98! With the shotgum I shot a 100.
Ok, I have rambled on and on ad nauseum so I will quit now!! I'm glad to get back to the Forum and back to "normal"; I just wish I had made some finds to wow ya'll with!!!
