After morning house chores, I was out to a near-by beach for low tide detecting around noon today; a bit windy at 37 * but the sun was shining...not a problem.
The first hour yielded sinkers and two pennies so I decided to change my "modus operandi" and headed back to the shoreline to detect along the water's edge until the tide receded further.
After about 10 paces along the shoreline I heard this solid, focused, medium level tone...not low like I usually hear with gold targets..but I dig everything anyway even though I thought this might be some kind of junk metal.
I was surprised to see a pretty pink-stoned 10 K class ring in the scoop and was more surprised to see that the band was missing.
Searched the surrounding area with no results...maybe it'll show up another day.
