Well, I always say..half a gold ring is better than no gold ring....beach finds today.

After morning house chores, I was out to a near-by beach for low tide detecting around noon today; a bit windy at 37 * but the sun was shining...not a problem.

The first hour yielded sinkers and two pennies so I decided to change my "modus operandi" and headed back to the shoreline to detect along the water's edge until the tide receded further.

After about 10 paces along the shoreline I heard this solid, focused, medium level tone...not low like I usually hear with gold targets..but I dig everything anyway even though I thought this might be some kind of junk metal.

I was surprised to see a pretty pink-stoned 10 K class ring in the scoop and was more surprised to see that the band was missing.

Searched the surrounding area with no results...maybe it'll show up another day.

Here are some pics "before and after" ...

thanks for looking

It was a recent loss and I was able to contact Balfour and they were able to give me the school location and even a phone number to the school. In less than a week the ring was in the mail headed back to Erica, she was thrilled. If you still have a name or initials, they may be able to help you return it.

Cool find.

Just two days ago , I was able to return a class ring that had been lost 20 yrs. ago.

The person lives in Florida and I tracked him down with the help of the town Library and the School

He was astounded that I found the ring and equally astounded that I returned it to him..

He made a video and it is on "You Tube"...

It was great to see his expression as he was opening the mail envelope .
