Well, here's what I've been up to.............

[Gulf Hunter]

Went for a solo spin on the 29th, with the Excal, into a 931P -0.7L and WSW winds at 5-10. Was in the water by 630P at the 1st location and bailed at 730P, with 2 cents. Tried another area at 745P and bailed at 830P, with 26 cents. Finally ended up at a decent area at 845P and got out the GQA2 and went to work, as the previous areas seemed sanded in and thought I would get better penetration with the PI. There was a nice gut, between the bars and good targets were coming to hand. ended up with $1.29 in clad at this location.

Other finds of interest were a .925 hoop, a .417 hoop and a nice looking solitare, that ended up being gold plated copper and CZ! Gotta hate it! Bailed at 1230A.

Then on the 30th, I ran the GQA2 again, into a 1010P -0.6L and SW winds at 5-10. Was in the water by 7P and worked the area hard. Hunted mainly shallow mine, but some wet sand also! Ended up with more ferrous iron, than I like to see, but not too bad of a haul.

Clad count was $3.20 here. Got a ferrous hoop, a non-ferrous hoop (unmarked), a ferrous child's split ring, "PRINCESS", copper (silver or gold plated) plated designer ring and another James Avery .925 heart ring. No gold, but 3 rings is not too trashy, I'll take it!

Went last night(7-31), with Huntress and hunted 3 areas with the GQA2 from 745P-12A and ended up with a raunchy $1.08 and a ferrous hoop. Sorry, no ring, no pic, is Huntress's motto! Should have stayed home! Tonight, I am taking her to dinner at our favorite seafood restaurant, as soon as I finish posting this! Did get a small taste of gold, but am looking for the banquet, hopefully it will be here soon!

Thanks for the compliment sir! No capt, I just use my scoop for recovery currently. Will kneal down in shallow water and fan out a hole in shallow water, on a stubborn target and grope for it(I always wear gloves). Have contemplated purchasing a mask and snorkle though. My waters here are quite murky and visibility would be very difficult, at best. There are times I feel it would help me out there though. Have even thought about taking it to the next level for some PADI cerification. There are a few deep water areas that could be potentially interesting. Seems like I would be setting myself up for dissappointment though, as I'm just getting warmed up after 1-2 hours of hunting and my air would be gone! Need the mask and snorkle, as you suggested. I think I could use a set sometimes.
