Good luck with your X-Terra. I think the best thing for you to do is go to the of this form and go to FAQ. You can find a link for your X-Terra 50 Manual and get a jump start on reading the manual. It help me get started when I got my mine x-Terra 70 April this year.

You will really like the x50. I've had mine for about 4 weeks and been out with it for a total of about 7 hrs. Went to a church yard a couple of times where I have found cw relics and older coins using 3 other detectors over the past 20 years or so. Very trashy ground. There was a previous church building, a one room school, and an old house at this site. So far with the x50 I have dug 2 minie balls, a flattened musket ball with holes drilled to make a button, a w&a railroad claim tag with the date 1857 on the back, 5 wheat cents, a 1939 mercury dime, a 1943 war nickle and some clad.

I have a 10" DD 7.5kHz on the way. I plan to set aside some time for relic hunting this winter.

It has more answers than you have questions at this time. I printed those out that pertained to the X-Terra and keep them with me for an occasional refresher course.

Congrats on your new X-Terra! I know you will be very happy with it. As stated the faqfaq is a great start and the video that comes with the unit is food also. Good luck to you and happy hunting, Beale.
