I still say it is the best detector on the market but... if FT does not get a handle on quality control, they are not going to be able to take full advantage of the promise of this technology. I have had two of their products, the T2 and the F75 and will keep both, I love both but I also had to send the T2 in to have the coil replaced.

I'm glad i have the T2 to fall back on, and the trusty Tejon.

It started yesterday PM at a place and I thought it was EI, I guess I moved the coil just right and got it working, I thought it was because I went to the back yard. It started agian today as soon as I tried to use it, I thought it was underground utilities and switched to the Tejon. I just got back to the office and tried it here... BIG TIME CHATTER... I moved the cable where it leave
s tje coil and CHATTER CITY!!! I can get it to stop but if I move the cable it is all chatter, so I am certain it is the coil. I hope they will just send me a coil. I am going to contact my dealer about it.

Bummer...

I know there working very hard to eliminate problems. The main man him self at Fisher is looking at every complaint, and return.

No company wants to have things like this happen, it's just not good business sense.

Stand by, it will be straighten out shortly.

I spoke with Mike Scott this afternoon and told him what it is doing and resolution is in the works. They have GREAT service!

I'll let you know when it get's resolved. I think you'll be surprised how fast they get it fixed. I was very impressed how fast the turnaround was on my T2 when I had a problem with it, (after a year of hard use).

Thanks for the cheer! Wanna buy a Cortes? laff.

I am happy you are happy with the service. Here is my take on this situation:
I have a Whites TR-66 that still works, a Fisher 1280X that I bought in 1985 that is still working fine, a CZ7a pro that had to be sent in for service of a headphone jack a couple of years ago and a F-75 that i have had for several months . So far is working fine and is a great detector and along with my explorers I have been finding some really deep stuff. Bottom line is that I want a detector that will work and stay working throughout the years and not spend 1/2 it's life in a UPS truck. As I said earlier so far mine is working fine or was before the weather got really hot and I went in the water. I will start using it again in a week or so as we are going on a trip to cooler climes but should the machine develop problems it will get sent in for service ONCE. Should another problem arise soon after that it goes in the trash.
Now you are saying that is harsh. Well in the first place I think FT rushed to get all these new model detectors to market before they had a handle on the quality control issue. Second, I don't have the time or patience to be a product inspector so If you want to keep me as a customer make a product that works and stays working .02

Yours is working and you are what? pre-complaining?
