nope two shillings. A bit is one eighth of a dollar, if you cut a dollar coin like a pizza. two bits is two 12.5 cent bits, a quarter is two bits.
 
That is cool as HELL! In Texas? I thought I was going to see a foamy bridle with "two bits" to withstand extra chomping!:lol:

they were ahead of the times in the UK 1920 to1946 and they had cut coins to 50% silver, and by 1946 all silver was gone. well done on getting a silver one !
