I got a call last night from my friends, Chris Beniston & Tom Smith, who are once again in New England. For any new readers of these

Holly Smoke...............now thats what I call some excellent finds.........They must be very accomplished hunters.
It was exciting just reading all those great finds..Whew !!!

You can also see by this E-mail I got from Tom on Friday that they are not cleaning out all those sites in the North Eastern US. Here's a cut-and-paste of Tom's quick note:

I attached a picture of the 4 Reale coin that I found, thought you would like to see.
Have not found much since we talked last. Right after we got off the phone with you we went into a green that produced 3 Indian heads and an 1864 2 Cent for Chris and 1 Indian head and an 1785 Nova Constellatio Copper. Yesterday Chris got an 1807 and 1809 Large Cents and about 8 Indian Head Pennies and I got a 1964 Rosie and an 1875 Seated Dime with 3 Indian Heads. Today has been very slow, right now Chris is getting a new starter in the Wonder Van and I'm doing laundry. Talk to you soon.

PS: They are still waiting for some DFX user to give them a call and show them what a DFX will do.

If I were there, I'd be using an XL Pro and my modified IDX Pro. That's show them! :)

hi monte!
can you say where in new england these items were found?..what states?...thanks!

(h.h!)
j.t.

Maybe not an 'X' marks the spot of a particular park or green or private lawn, but at least a general idea of which state or perhaps which town(s) they found good targets at.

Remember, they are only filling me in on the interesting older finds and not all the blasted zinc and wheatie cents or clad dimes and quarters.

I'll post it when I get it.

Monte
