Seems like lots and lots of new E trac owners are on the site. I thought it would be fun and give us some perspective if All the new owners posted a quick thread on this topic.
Although we all probably think were fairly new lets stick to everyone who got there machine from say November 2010 to now. Just post message below on my thread.

Thanks for any reply,

Hi! I'm a three day old Etrac owner from the Connecticut shoreline. I have been detecting for years very casually on land and somewhat more seriously underwater. I do alot of treasure hunting underwater, from bottles to megladon teeth to shipwreck artifacts. I am very excited to get to know my Etrac and all of you guys. It's great to be able to read and learn from you all.

Hi, I've had mine for about 2 1/2 weeks... I've been detecting for a very long time and I have never had a machine that produced like this one is. I need to thank Sugar, Nebtrack, Goesforever, and others, that helped me thru the initial start up with this machine. So far I've found several 10 inch wheaties that is unheard of with my other machines, especially with the separation that it does... I wish I hadn't waited this long to get it... GH

Your right utahshovelhead, sorry if I missed anyone and Hello and Welcome! Great bunch of people here and tons of help.

Hi My name is Bill ,
I like to hunt and fish for the most part ! I've had my ET for 5 days now. When I lived in Fla I had and old coinmaster I'd hit the beaches and did very well with it. 20 odd yrs ago.
I live in a small township in between Greenville and Abbyville not far from an old mill built mid 1700's that made civil war uniforms for the confederate's during the war .
Anyway A few weeks ago one of my neighbors in his late 70's got to talking about a wagon train that came through here during the end of the civil war . To hear him tell it one of the wagons broke down near the creek . Sherman's force was burning and killing everything in sight and all around them . So he says they hid the contents of the wagon some where around here .
So the next weekend I buy him more beer and play 40 questions ........ Seems this area sold a lot of cotton to Mexico at the time . The wagon was thought to be full of nail kegs filled with Mexican silver . Payment for the cotton.
So I started researching what I gathered.....I was astounded at what I have came up with .....Enough so to buy me a ET and poke around a bit .......OK a lot !!!
So when fishing is bad or hunting is out of season You know where I'll be !!
That's my story and I'm sticking to it .... Just got rained out by the way or I would be out there now !

Hello Everyone,
I stopped Mding about 5 years ago with a CZ7 and just bought my first minelab last Saturday. I'm getting quite a bit of info off of this site and hope to be using the ETrac quite a bit in the near future. Had it out on two private beaches for an hour hunt each and foud a few modern silver coins on them, I might add that they are hunted all of the time. Hope to do much more in the future and will be posting the finds here. Aagain thanks for all of the info.

welcome to all you newbies lovely seeing you on this site they are a great bunch of guys on here very helpful so happy hunting to you all welllll when you can get out look forward to seeing your findssssssssss

Newbie to this forum, but not to metal detecting. I started metal detecting with my dad in 1969 at age six. I got my own detector in 1980, a White's 5000-D and hunted around my hometown of Flora, IL. In 1986 I moved to Effingham, IL and bought a Fisher 1260-X. I had great success with the Fisher around Effingham and surrounding towns. In 1996 I moved to Champaign, IL and found a 1914-D cent in my own front yard there. The oldest coin I've found is a Spanish Reale dated 1808.

My Fisher finally gave up the ghost in about 2000 and I haven't been detecting since then. Lately I have a strong urge to get back out there. I ordered a new E-Trac last week and it arrived on Wednesday. For the past two days I have been studying the manual and the Andy Sabish book. I plan on taking my brand new E-Trac on its maiden hunt tomorrow.

Hopefully in a few days I'll be sharing my recent finds.

This looks like a great place and I look forward to hanging out here!

Tony,
Best of luck on your maiden hunt with the ET..... i hope it turns out as successful as mine was!!!

Hi to everyone, I live 6 months in Florida and 6 months in Michigan so I get to detect year round, yes i am lucky! Liking the Etrac so far. I have ownedan Explorer XS since they first came out. I really cleaned out some parks back in Michigan. I am looking forward to trying the Etrac in these same parks when I get back up there. Have been learning a lot here, but field experience is the best. I do better with hands on rather than reading. Here in Florida, I have only used it at the beach, just to famaliarize myself with the Etrac.

Hello everyone,,,, I'm not an owner yet,,, still debating on what machine to get,, I was sold on the F75LTD but heard it was not the best in NoCal soil,, leaning towards the Etrac now ,,,, Do you think it's worth my time to get Andy's book without having the machine here to reference to? I have been MD for about 8 months with a Tesoro Silver uMax and had great fun and success with it. I'm sure I'm in it for the long run and want to get a professional level machine . I like ALL aspects of the hobby,,, will hunt anywhere, but live in a remote area that has gold mining history and like to look for coins and jewelry at old stage stops and homesteads for the most part. When I'm at one of these sites I tend to dig it all,,, so it's hard for me to spend so much money on a high end machine when a beep and dig will do me,,,, but I do like the technical side of the hobby and would like to see allot more info before I dig,,,and it would be to have a machine that un-masks targets in iron,,, another ??? is it true that the Etrac has17 freq but only uses 2 of them? Someone made a reference to that fact but did not state the name of the machine they were talking about so I'm guessing here,,,, thanks for all the help I read most all of what you guys post,,, HH
