Decided after it cooled off a bit to hit a fence line near a old church,, NO,, didnt find any silver,, but got two wheats about 3 feet from each other on a slight incline,, 2 inches down,, went back through hte memory banks,, and remembered that some of my best finds were along little inclines,, some large,, and some like this one,, about 3 feet in height over the course of about 8 feet

Yep, I, too, never pass up an incline. A couple week's ago I recovered a 1921 Morgan $ just over the ridge on the down slope side of about a 3' deep ditch. The Morgan was only 3" deep, but unfortunately had tangled with a park lawn mower. HH jim tn

I aslo have found some very good finds on inclines. I try to hit them when I see them, Beale.

I too have found good things on inclines....maybe declines would be a better word. Maybe people drop stuff, what they drop roll down the decline and maybe they don't look down the decline or don't notice it so much. Darned, I hate speculators, and I'm being one :sadwalk: However I did find my biggest wedding band at the bottom of a decline. The loser must have had a ring finger bigger than my thumb  Uh-OH, thinking about this is giving me "Metal-Detecting Fever" again! See ya later! :detecting:

When I was a kid growing up in the late 50's/early 60's, people would sit along the levee of the Brazos River to watch the speed boat races, they haven't done that in decades now but those same levees are still there, think I'll go check them out soon as the cooler weather sets in, thanks for the info. John
