Weird xterra

7centsworth

Well-known member
There is a weird model xterra on the bay. I think it is just a Russian xterra 70. It says it is A T74. Just wondering if someone has seen one before.

Well, there's a website that lists the Xterra T74. Doesn't look like it's a Russian site. Never heard of it before.

Run...don't walk!
I checked out their site and they have NOTHING to do with Minelab. They list NO physical address.
They also talk about three frequency 305's, and they give positive reviews on LRL's, so you know that they are shysters (whoever "they" are).

Seems fishy to me. When I seen it I was like WHAT?

The Chinese are cranking these fakes out like mad and they make no bones about it. I don't understand how they aren't stopped.

Whether Chinese or Eastern European, they aren't Minelab Xterras, regardless of what they say.
In my mind, these are no different than the clandestine coils being offered. They are a rip-off!

There's some 505s on {a site that does not sponsor this site} for $305, look good to go...I guess, price keeps dropping every couple of days

Too bad they don't stop these people selling these fakes. This will eventually put a lot of honest manufactures out of business, and only hurt our hobby in the long run.

Minelab manufactured T34, T54, T74 models for Russia, with Russian language decals. They function the same as 30, 50, 70 models respectively. Minelab switched to universal symbols for 305, 505, 705 models, so there were no Russian specific versions of these.
