Weird Wheatie today

Fertilizer will do that to a coin or it will toast it. I have a few like that....always sit and wonder how it can make the coin thin but not remove the detail. :blink:
 
seems to me like I remember a time when you could grind down a penny and it would work in some vending machines as a dime? i'm 60 so memory ain't all that good........
 
It is the piece of copper at the end of the strip of copper, normally they remove the strip from the machine b4 it gets that far along. I have a Indian head Cent the same way, fully struck and I believe struck on wrong size planchet...nge
 
It was ground down on purpose to be used in a machine as a dime, i have found them before and always exact diameter as a dime, compare it to a dime and check it out
