Weird noises after startup

The last couple months when i first start my explorer se pro, right after the initial startup sounds it will make this weird barrage of sounds and then the threshold will come and it seems to work fine from here on out. Sounds are similar to when your detecting near powerlines or in highly mineralized grounds. Its the same everytime, even if i do a noise cancel and shut the detector off. It will still do it when i turn it back on. I did a factory reset awhile back but it still continues to do it. Anyone have any suggestions? Its a little over a year old. Thanks, Sam

metal on your body. i kept getting vibration from my pinpoint, it was the metal frame glasses hanging on my neck also pick signals from my metal hooks on my boots

Each and every time I've fired up the SE in the last many years....it screams like a banshee stuck in power lines for about 3 to 5 seconds....then just settles into the normal threshold.:beers:

If you have a coil cover.... take it off and clean it. It takes very little dirt in there to cause that falsing.

It always makes a ton of sounds...like EMI for a few seconds right when I start it up before the threshold comes in.

Sweet, im glad to see its not just mine. I take the coil cover off every hunt because i have noticed it gets full of dirt and grass. It just sounds like the machines confused for a couple seconds but clears right up and appears to be working good otherwise. I was just concerned because it didnt do it when i first got it. Even if i hold it up in the air when i turn it on it still does it. I did notice last winter when i was wearing work boots all the time if i wore my steel toes it would null ever sweep when it was straight out from my boot. even with the shaft extended to the max. lol. Its pretty powerfull. Thanks guys
