not sure what it is but I find them alot around my place. was wanderiing if someone could help me out on this .

its to heavy to be aluminum, to hard to be lead, and wont stick to a magnet. what is this stuff??? I know the pics aren't the best in the world but I took them with my phone as our good camera isn't so good anymore

this is what it looked like after about a minute on the bench grinder. I liked the solder idea but does solder get that hard. can it be that it is once molten stainless steel. not sure! a magnet won't stick to true stainless will it. I dont know. I guess I can't rule out the robot droppings theory either:lol:

I'm on the Logan/Lincoln county line if you would be intersted in getting together and doing some hunting just let me know and we'll find a few placed to hunt locally.

Hi, I have found alot of what u have . Its to heavy for aluminum and kinda hard . The one thing I have noticed is the areas that I have found these are, that there was a fire that destroyed the houses . just golbs of melted alumunum maybe . Hope this helps.......

thanks guys I'm gonna try the torch thing

I did some asking around and found that a house did in fact burn down about 150 yards away from my house. still on my property. and this used to be a farm so its possible that they could have use dirt from the old house site to build up the yard and house seat where my house is now .

I hear ya on the the 3rd shift I was on the 3rd shift move crew at the mine I worked at until recently. I am currently unemployed and have no phone, so we'll have to set something up in-forum when you get the chance. I'd definitely like to check out some of those schools since all of our better parks are "historical sites" and metal detecting is prohibited. no hurry though. just when ever you got the time and want to.

That looks pretty cool. I'm guessing it is just from that house that burned down then. That is what everything would point to.

:usaflag:Looks like welding slag to me...
