That is strange.

Radio Shack is where I got my first detector which I keep in the truck and still use often (pictured below).

Radio Shack! hehehe BUT, I just bought a Discovery 3300 for a grandchild as I was not entirely happy with the thought of him using the GTI or the T2. However...you can't short change a child or they feel slighted.

So of course I went to the usual school ground patch for a test run after and amazing air test!
But I figured it had to be a fluke.
I put a set of whites headphones on it (Not wireless) although I know when he sees mine wireless he'll want to be like Papaw for sure! hehehe

Any I was soooooooo impressed, and I don't mean in a small way either.
Turn on and go Coin Shooting fool of a machine. And I dug a Darn Penny at 8 inches cause I just knew I could make a Liar out of this RS machine.

Guys....I went and bought two more 3300's They are fun to hunt with and at $111.00 dollar well how can you beat them.
Now if the Grandson kicks the T2's butt his inheritance will be in serious DANGER! hehehe

Okay ...Okay here's the review The 3300 out of the box went together in less than 1 Minute. It was easily turn on and go. It was quick to GB and then off into the hunt. The 3300 has 4 Tones just like other Brand names. But in a set Whites headphones the tones were pleasing to the ear! That's important come on!
Two setting are Discriminate and All Metal easily accessed from two push buttons right in the Center of the Faceplate. Sensitivity presets itself and is fully adjustable at all times, as is the Discrimination setting in Discrmination Mode of course!

OH... my God, I'm writing a full blown review on a RS....Somebody shoot this boy fast!

It has a Tag on the Box called Super Scan which I haven't figured out the meaning of that yet...Unless they are talking about the speed at which the the VDI works, coupled with a rather speedy processor which tunes the separation steps. Which is also stupidily impressive!
Sorry..guys just telling the truth as I see it!

All the touch pads are digitally controlled, I hope they last and aren't set up too cheap as they lack some feel to quality, yet work impressivly! There I said something bad! Good!

It is loaded with 7 segments of target separation, it has one youch Pin-Pointing which is a great feature that even expensive detectors should take note of..Hint Hint! hehehe

Oh my Goodness... it even has a ground balance knob but is automatic or adjustable for even the toughest soils...(I lke the way they said that! ) hehehe

The Bounty "D"Tech Coil is the one to get. It a full 8"inche search coil and has Nice Open Face construction and is waterproof!

The Aluminim stem is fully adjustable, but I'll be placing mine on either a quality White or Minelab Stem! There...another thing I didn't like. Oh it will work....But for a seasoned pro you just got to do the MOds (you know what I mean!)hehehe

The VDI oh I almost forgot the VDI.....If the VDI was bigger so an old man could see it better-well lets just say this would be my coin shooter by choice!


It even has a battery strength indicator on it!


Okay ...I'm done...And I'm so ashamed of my self! hehehe


Pick one up for your GrandChild you won't be sorry. But try not to let the wife catch you using it too much!

With Radio Shack USA closing many of it's stores they will not be carrying BH metal detectors like they were. Some of the big stores in metro areas may, but many will not. So they are blowing them out. Good time for a gift detector like KCK has.
