Weight problem with CZ-6

New member
Hi all: Havn't metal detected with my CZ-6 yet as i just bought it used. I did notice the weight of swinging it could cause arm fatigue. After looking online i saw something called a "swingy thingy". After looking at it i have some straps one with shoulder pad and made my own. I was amazed when i got it finished and now my slighty heavy CZ-6 now is almost weightless as i swing it wow. Can swing it all day now:) Hope your ideas turn into something that really works and its always exciting making something yourself. Now we need to melt all this snow:) Dan P.S. Windy City Detectors sells these premade so give them some business:)

Although the weight never bothered me compared to some real heavy units it does shift the weight to the large back muscles alleviating strain on the smaller arm muscles and works well for many..If you have back problems would not recommend one.

We use a strap from a duffel bag, put a clip ( the small ones, like you use for climbing, BUT smaller ) on one end. Clip that to your belt or belt loop in the back of your pants. We hook a short
bunjie ( sp ) strap on the other end and hook that to your m-d. TA-DA !!

I forgot to mention, after you hook it to your belt or belt loop in the in the back, place the strap over your shoulder so that it hangs over
your chest. Then hook it ( short bungee strap) to your m-d .
