Weight issue on G.T. not an issue!!!

I spent the entire day out with my new G.T. and I must say I was EXTREMELY suprised at how great the straight rod balances the weight! It is not heavy at all! I am 120lb woman and I went all day besides a few breaks for snacks and lunch. The handle design is excellent. When I bought it I was anticipating having to hipmount it I was so wrong! I recently owned a Whites detector that felt like a tank strapped to my arm compared to this machine, A well thought out design indeed by minelab. Oh yea did I mention how much this machine ROCKS!!!!!

Yes, I was apprehensive regarding the weight until I got my GT . Not an issue at all. (But you gotta have those snacks to keep your stamina up.)

I was thinking the same thing. It feels a lot lighter than the explorer to me. I think the control bow at the back makes the difference.

Yes, the box at the back and the fact that it is a straight shaft design seems to be a very good design, the funny thing is if you look at the older "antique" detector designs alot of them have the same idea.
