Weight difference between original 10" BBS coil and 10" Tornado Slimline

I tried to look them up in stores online but could not find the full info...

I'm trying to figure if its worth upgrading from original BBS 10" to Slimline Tornado of the same size, if I can get it at a good deal. This would be for the GT.

Thanks ahead!

If you bought the GT new than it should have the 10 inch Tornado coil (slimline) as the BBS coils were used on the XS series Sovereigns and the slimline were on the Elite and the GT.
I find the slimline Tornado coil is lighter and balances good so it will swing better without wearing out your arm plus I find the Tornado coil is much more sensitive for me and yet I can work some trashy area also which I found hard to do with the 10 BBS coil. I never was a believer in the BBS coils as much as I was with the older 8 inch coinsearch, the 8 inch S-8 of Sun Rays and the S-12, but when the 10 inch Tornado coil come out on the Elite it made a believer out of me. I like mine anyway and i think you will find it hard to find a used one as those that have them keep them.

Shoot down several pages in this forum. There's a thread called something like "Still Need Input On Deepest Coil For Coins" or something like that, or it might be under the other called something like "Coil Stats & Opinions". Anyway, there's a chart (the latest is a picture file and not just text in the message, which are the older charts I made) I made that I posted as a picture and it has all the weights of various coils listed. If I remember right the 10" BBS was the heaviest coil out of all of the stock and aftermarket coils, or at least right near the WOT as being the heaviest of all coils, even much more than the SEF 15x12.

Great, thanks guys... I remember reading that thread and seeing the older list which did not have all the coils, but it looks like it got updated further down the thread (where I did not get to last night)

I was able to get a used one for $108 shipped, supposed to be in good condition. HH everyone!
