[attachment 26490 lulu.jpg]Got some diggin in this weekend and need some help with a whatzit, my first inclination was that it was some sort of belt buckle due to the teeth that swivels - anyone else have any ideas - the only wording on the item is on the back and states, "PAT. APLD. FOR 500". HH - Hawkeye Jim.[attachment 26491 whatzit.jpg]

That's a fine variety of finds & ya gutta love the silver!
I think that's a fancy suspender clip. At least that's what I've always called them, as they surface alot at the cellar holes we search that date to after the turn of the century....
HH,
Bill

Where you been hiding? Looks like you had a good time. Congrats on those silvers and Indian  I think Bill called it. I'm pretty sure that's a suspender clip. Glad to see you back!

Tony & Bill - been busy with work, family, all that other good stuff that goes along with it................... Yep, always puts a smile on your face when the silver and Indian Heads pop out of the ground. C$ does it again - Hawkeye Jim.

and congrats on the silver! The buckle looks like a strap buckle for maybe a rucksack, strikes me as Canadian for some reason. HH, Mike
