Curious to find out what threaded rod was for..and if any lock people might have a guess as to time frame on lock..im thinking possibly early 1800s?...and just wanted to show the 2 musket balls I found also at old cellar hole...

Threaded rod thing is a tool for cleaning rifles. It threaded into an aluminum or steel rod...You put a piece of cloth in the slot and use lubricant or cleaning solvents on it, and run it through a barrel of a rifle or shotgun...No idea on the lock...
