Weekend trip yields Gold!

Bottomfeeder

New member
I traveled all over north central and western Iowa since sunday. I hit 6 beaches by monday afternoon. exhausted, I drove home. No gold.
Grumpy old Diver came over Tuesday morning and wanted to go to a beach he had gotten in to. I wavered for a minute, but it's near virgin territory, so off we went.

Stayed there overnite tuesday, we talked about getting up wednesday and going home, as no gold had appeared.
But, I woke up at seven, and decided I still had one last hunt left in me. I had to be back to work in the afternoon.
Right at ten oclock, I scooped another endless signal, and there it was!!
Ever worked and worked to find one, and FINALLY get one? I breathed a short thanks to the man above, then Grumpy breeched the surface like an old Humpback whale, he was met with me standing there admiring this little five diamond mans band. (called me a terrible name, can ya believe it!!)
The diamonds are small, and its a 10K, but thats fine with me!!
A long hard tiring four day weekend ended with gold only an hour before I had to quit.:clapping:

Hey Bottomfeeder, You're NOT ALONE! I have been hunting a particular saltwater bay beach off/on all summer, and not one piece of jewelry, yet alone any gold. This week I got out, and first day I got a Womans Timex Watch, in chest deep water, that was still running, and keeping perfect time. This I believed would end my No Jewelry Sreak for the summer treasure hunting! Next day went to popular semi-wealthy ocean beach resort, that had beach replenishment over the winter. BIG MISTAKE! Hit there an hour before low tide, westerly wind, and flat seas. Idea conditions you would think, but big mistake! Three different times a rogue wave knocked my big 300lb BUTT on my face. Beach replenishment had changed the wave action on that beach, so that the waves hit with a SUPER FORCE, that just takes your feet out from under you. Spent three hrs. wading up the coast, NO JEWELRY/NO MONEY, not even a penny,
JUST JUNK, and a SEVERE INNER THY RASH!! Then on third trip back to saltwater bay beach, battling 1-2ft. northerly waves, and persistent scooping in muck/heavy concentration of black sand, BINGO!! A BEAUTIFUL GOLD HEART with possible diamond chips in it. No carat markings, but I knew it wa gold, because of the mild lustre. So, I took it to a local jewelry store, and had it checked out. Definitely GOLD, and real dieamond chips! The heart has I Love You on the back side of the heart. After the heart, I recovered my first bracelet, but it looks like it was gold plated. First, piece of gold for 2005, after hunting all summer! I guess that old saying of GOOD THINGS COME TO THOSE WHO WAIT!! But, why did we have to wait so long!! HH

All the sweeter when you go out and really beat yourself up to find something...ANYTHING!!!!
Nice going on your finds.
Who were you with over in Nam? I went over with the 27th Marines in feb 68.

The King is too cool! Nice ring, congrats!
