WEEKEND relic hunt. pics to follow

Well I took the fiance relic hunting this weekend and due to travel time and what not, only got about 9 hours total of hunting. So it was a short trip, but we had fun.

I ran it with stock coil, Di3 this time around, 95 sensitivity, ground tracking off, between 10-19 MASK, tried to GB every change (sloppy wet ground and puddles from cow foot prints vs the drier, higher ground, hills, etc) GB varied between 45-53 average between areas.

I dug 2 3 ringers, 1 shell frag, 1 grape shot (impressive depth of 16 inches) and 2 case shot I think, with one being chewed badly.

I will also post some pictures of the trickies I found, while they are getting dug LESS, as I learn this amazing machine.

Now the bullets and case shot were fairly easy to find, as they ranged from 6-12 inches down, with the chewed up one being the hardest, as it was down 12 inches. And YES, it gave a quieter than normal "beep" and did not give a visual TID, until I dug the initial dirt plug out. But it was a quieter than normal beep, but a diggable beep, nonetheless. In other words, you could "hear" that it was something to investigate...

WORD to the wise, the iron grape shot, gave a solid beep (intermingled with some iron tones as well), but was a solid hit...But But BUT...would ONLY beep east to west, turn 180 degrees, and would beep west to east...BUT BUT BUT "WOULD NOT" beep at all from north to south, and south to north. Very strange. AND AND AND, as I reported last week, with the intermingled iron tones, would give these TID READOUT. 18, 51, 19, 48, 18, 50, 20, 47........ WITH THE CORE AND deep frags, I have noticed that it will do just that...bounce between 18_21 & 48_51 or so. So (at least for me and my experience so far), when I see this on the TID, I know to investigate these type signals, as they have turned out to be FERROUS, DEEPER shell frags or iron grape shot. Again DEEPER! Whereas the lone piece of shell frag I found just gave a higher pitched beep and high (80+ TID), and was only down 6-7 inches.

Pictures to follow...(goodies and trickies)

Okay so here are the "trickies"
http://i1382.photobucket.com/albums/ah268/bubbadirect/Mobile%20Uploads/Perryville%2004122015/20150413_104903_zpszntciycy.jpg

Sometimes they would give TID between 19 and 82. But never a solid tone of a good signal of 80+. Always was intermingled with ferrous signal.grunts, and always had the large spread of 19-82ish numbers. I did have a couple of very iffy type signals that tended to be much quieter than normal and would sometimes give more of a high pitched beep, but would always be small rusted old FERROUS materials.

VERY IMPORTANT TO NOTE HERE...whenever a plug dug out after pinpointing, and the signal was NO LONGER CENTERED IN THE HOLE (sidewall target recovered), IT WAS
»»»ALWAYS««« this small iron.

In other words, the GOOD SIGNALS AND DUG TARGETS were always where I pinpointed and dug straight down!

Good TARGETS dug are here :twodetecting:

Great tips and nice scores thanks for keeping us updated.

Greaser, I cant wait to get it out again, knowing that I left goodies in the ground. I cant wait to try the large coil. The stock coil is no slouch. While it may not separate as well as the small coil, I can still feel it slicing through the trash and iron like a hot knife thru butter!

:wiggle:

Exactly bubba it is serving me well I will get the small coil eventually but the stock one is so good I dont feel the small coil is needed yet.
