Weekend hunts with XLT

Greetings, got out with my XLT late saturday evening to one of my favorite parks. This park dates back to the late 1800's and I've found many old coins here in the past. Hunted by an old cobblestone bridge yet once again to see if I could pull any more oldies. I just recently switched from the coin / jewelry program to the relic program and have seen improved results in some of my hunted out areas. Netted the 1907 Injun about 5 inches deep next to some shrubbery. Called it quits as the mosquitos were out and about.

Sunday I decided to go to another 1800's park not too far from the first park I went to. This park has a baseball field which I call the field of dreams. I always pull silver from this field, usually by the bleechers. Found the 46 dime right in front of the bleechers. I netted a silver quarter and another silver dime here last week so I knew theres gotta be more there. Guess I was right :)

Great hunt Eric:thumbup:

Hello Ohio Fred,

You will definitely find an Indian. The XLT loves them. Got about 50+ Indians over the years from our hunted out parks. They usually ring in anywhere from 56 - 63. I have a couple of fatties, I gotta dig them out and do an air test so I can remember where they ID.

If you dig zinc pennies and screwcaps, you will definitely get the Indians. I would dig those signals with depths 3 1/2" inches or deeper. Coins dont necessary go too deep in my neck of the woods. Deepest Indian I pulled was an 1859 fattie at 5 1/2" in one of our town commons.

Good luck on your quest, I know you will succeed. HH :)
