Took a trip to my old hometown yesterday and hunted 3 different parks, including Seated Park, for virtually the entire day. Was lucky enough to find keepers at each park. Park #1 yielded a badly stained 1877 Seated dime. The second park produced a pair of silver dimes (45 Merc and 52 Rosie) and also a 1920 Buffalo nickel. By the way, that makes 7, yes SEVEN old nickels for the year- do I have enough time to catch my friend Ed in Upstate NY??
Saved Seated park for last hoping for a seated #2 for the day- wasn't to be. Did find a 37 Merc under a huge root and as always, as I was heading back to my car, got that dual coin/junk sound. Pulled out a big rusty piece of junk, then about 3 inches away, found a greened Indian. Cleaned it up and noticed the smallish date of the better date coins- sweet, key 1872. Nice, bold date in pretty nice shape.
Enjoy the pics and HH all!
