Weekend hunting seems to be over....

...since its' cold, windy and raining this morning. So here are some of the finds from this weekend. A broken bracelet, a pendant, a hitch pin, a key and two wheat cents.

Nice digs. Is the bracelet gold?? I really like the Key and merc's are always nice!

:usaflag:Nice old key...very cool.

Not sure about the bracelet, McDave. Looks like it could be gold plated but I have no way to test it. It's broken in two pieces and the clasp end is missing, so no marking. It doesn't stick to a magnet if that tells me anything.

:usaflag:A simple way to test for gold jewelry is to take some face powder, which your mother or girlfriend, wife..etc will most certainly have, and put some on your wrist or arm. Take the item in question and rub it on the spot where you put the powder. If it is gold it should turn black on your skin where you rubbed it. I have'nt tried it myself, my wife does'nt use the stuff, but I read about it somewhere. Good luck
