Weekend Hunt

Tony (NC)

New member
My parents came to Carolina this weekend to help the first born celebrate birthday #8. So Dad and I managed to slip off to a cellar hole for a couple of hours. Of course, I managed to get poison ivy again, but that's pretty much standard any more.:rage:

Believe it or not, this is an 1899 IH penny. The Coinstrike "NAILED" this one (pun intended) There were 2 rusty square nails in the hole with it. I think that's why it looks so bad!

The next piece is a cool little buckle I dug

As you can see from the back, this one had some shine at one time

Here is a crudely made flat button I found

And finally, this was a pleasant suprise:yikes:

I wasn't expecting to find gold at the cellar hole! I poked around in the dirt looking for a stone, but all I got was poison ivy down in those fuzzy roots! :rage: No great finds this time but we had a good time!

but either way, those are some nice digs! Sorry about the poison Ivy, I have had it a time or to myself, it's not a pleasant thing for sure.
Break out the Calamine Lotion!

The markings inside are too small for these tired eyes! I guess I'll have to break out a magnifier for this one.
