Weekend hunt at my Uncles farm and this is what I found..The farm seen a little Civil War action..The coins were found away from the house and barns on top of a knob/mountain in the middle of no where.Just shows you that you never know what you are gonna find or where you are gonna find it!!:clapping:.All the coins were found in the same hole about 4" down in rocky soil.I guess that's why they were not any deeper..
I know the musket balls are Civil War era but what about the shell casing. It has a U on the bottom of it..

Union Metallic Cartridge Co. (Remington). would have to measure inside of case to know caliber. Guessing maybe 38 short or 41 short rimfire, No primer in center. Rem started metallic cases in 1867. Stopped rimfire production in 1880.

Neat stuff! My At is on the way, can't wait.

That is some very good finds, nice pocket spill. That gun looks in good shape, it is real or toy, my old eyes can't tell? That was a good hunt. Thanks for the good pictures. -- Randy

22 and 25 rimfire by umc...fired a ton of that stuff when i was a kid in the early seventies....the one bullet looks to be about 1/4 " or .25....hard to tell by the pics...just my 2 cents.....great finds....keep hitting it, maybe you'll find more silver!!!

Almost dime size it's prob a 44 Henry. Just shy of 1/2" at rim and just over 3/4" long. 1860 to 1934 production. Here's the history of the cartridge. Still neat finds whatever it is.

would seem to be in bad taste to post your finds on someone elses thread. unless you where hunting with him and was mentioned in the original post. jmho
