Ok guys i need help identifying a coin i recently found in a yard in new york state. they were about 3 to 4 inches deep so im not sure if they are modern or old. i also found a no date buffalo nickel several wheats dating from 1920 to 1954. also i recovered a st marys silver religious medallion with the chain along with several modern coins. i took the coins in question to my local historical society but they were unable to identify them they were buried about 3 feet from one another . any help would be apreciated

What is the size of the coin? Half dollar?

sorry for not stating size im fairly new to posting things the coin is deffinately bigger than a half dollar i dont have a dollar to compare it to but hopefully this picture will show it well enough thanks for the quick reply. i love this hobby because you just never know what you might find this coin showed as a solid half dollar signal about 4 inches deep digging so much junk i almost didnt dig this one but i think ill start digging even the junk targets thanks again for the quick reply the coin on the left is a 1927 half dollar once more thanks for the quick reply

It is NOT a coin, but a sort of token...Probably from Ellis Island Gift Shop...Nice find though

i thought the same thing and tried a search on the net and at ebay but didnt find this one either that new or just junk but ill through it with the rest of the not worth much pile but it was fun to find and a little exciting but its a little of history that gets preserved:twodetecting:
