What a weekend!
Saturday, on my way to work, I noticed that an old school that I've hunted before was getting some grass scraped off by a bulldozer. YIPPEE! I couldn't wait to get out of work. As soon as I could, I went back, and started scanning the dirt. I immediately realized the 'dozer had only pulled off the grass and maybe the top inch of soil. Darn! I got a few modern coins. After a bit, I decided to work the easement, to check if there were any goodies out there. Immediately, I got a hit, 4" down. It turned out to be a '36 Wheat, and I managed to put a good scratch on ol' Abe. About 10' away, I got a signal that bounced Foil/Nickel, from an indicated 6". I was hoping for a Buff. When I recovered it, it was a nickel, but not a Buff, a '41 Jefferson. Close only counts in three things! I ended up getting another Wheat, a '54D.
Sunday, I think I did more driving than hunting. I didn't have long, as I knew a storm was moving into the area. I ended up on a Little League field. I wasn't expecting much, but since this particular field seemed a little older than the surrounding fields, I decided to give it a shot. Well, I started pulling up deep quarters. One was a '67. I started getting hopeful. After a few more minutes, I got a sweet, High Coin signal at an indicated 6". I cut a plug, checked, and the target's in the hole. I started scooping out loose dirt, nothing. Finally, I saw a dime-sized disc on the bottom of the hole. I picked it up, and knew I had silver. Here's what I got:

I also managed to get a Little League hatpin.
I wasn't able to post these goodies Sunday, as right as I got home, we lost power. It wasn't restored until this morning, after I got to work. When I came home, I found a present in my yard, another 10 lbs or so of copper wiring, from the power lines that had been replaced.
Today, since it had rained, I figured I would go back to the old school, and see if any marbles had been exposed by the rain washing away the dirt. Sure enough, I did find one, but it looks like it's fairly recent, not old.
