Finds include relics from the civil war, late 1800's and early 1900's.

Any idea on the top center item in this pic? I found one dated 18XX something but it was plated and looked modern.

The only problem is there were no battles or large encampments here. Just small amounts of troops stationed around to guard R.R. tracks, bridges and telegraph lines. They were confederate troops that were very poorly equiped. They supposedly didn't even have enough muskets and ammo to drill with according to the OR of the CW. I've found some nice stuff but I'd still like to dig a belt or breast plate( wouldn't matter if it was bent up with holes all in it).
