Weekend finds with 14" coil

Hunted an 1860's site again we have pounded over the years. It's interesting how stuff keeps coming up.
The nickel is an 1868.
The big coin is an 1827 King George IV half penny.
This was the forth time out with the 14" coil. I would strongly recommend it to anyone. I run it at +3 all the time and its very stable. Seems to get at least 1-2" more depth than the stock coil.
Thanks Jim M. for making me a good swap for the coil.
HH to all. Scott in Northern Utah.

I got a couple of questions for you on the 14" coil.
Is it harder to swing for long periods of time compared to the stock 950 coil?
What part of Utah are you located?
Good finds. I haven't found any old coins yet. Mostly 1930 to present.
Thanks
Arnie

see if you can yank some of that elusive silver out of there!
On our Utah & Nevada ghost town jaunt in September we had just the early half of a day in Salt Lake City and that's where I took my friends to hunt. Chris didn't so so well but he was going back and forth between his Explorer II and DFX. Aundrea just stuck with her XLT and managed to pop an 1892 'V' nickel, 1925 Merc. dime, and two Barber dimes, 1903 and 1905. She also got a nice sterling silver CTR ring.
Next year we'll probably plan to spend a full day or two working parks and/or renovation work as well as ghost towns. I was going to use my 12

I shortened the rod 1 click which I think helped a lot. Yes, it is a little heavier but not that bad. This is the first time I ever used a DD coil and I really like it. I would recommend it to any one. I will probably use it as my main coil unless the ground is really trashy and then switch back as needed.
I live in Brigham where do you live?

Several years ago they dug up an old park in Ogden (25th and Washington) and about a dozen of us detected it. It was un believable what came out of the ground after 8-9 inches was scrapped off. Hundreds of Wheaties and silver coins came out of their. Also lots of Seated, Buffs, V's, Barbers, tokens. There was even several gold coins and I even got 2 silver dollars in one hole. The point is these old parks are loaded with goodies the problem is they are down 10-15 inches.
Have good one. Scott

Scott,
I am here is Salt Lake City and would like to hunt with you sometime. Send me an email at glenn_kirk@hotmail.com.
Garry and myself have hit Liberty pretty hard and have pulled about 70 silvers (many from 1870s to 1910) out since about March of this year. It is getting much tougher to find any more. The interesting thing about it is Liberty is a big park, but all of the good stuff came out of a relatively small area.
HH,
Glenn
