A fellow hard core detectorist and I travelled a couple states south and battled the elements on Saturday and made some old finds.
It started snowing on us at 9 am on Saturday. We worked the same park all day. By the time we quit at 5 pm there was about 3 inches of snow on the ground.
Temp for the day was about 22 degrees and the ground was still diggable. This morning we woke up to -1 temps and more snow so we headed home.
Barber dime is a 1903 o and Indian head pennies are back to 1897.
My favorite find was the older gold plated round oak stove pin. That read similar to an Indian head penny and was about 6 inches deep.
I also got a pretty neat silver dragon ring.
