Weekend Camping of Fun:twodetecting::detecting:

Larry and I took off for a long weekend of detecting with Rob (rcasio44) and his wife. We both had our camping units in tow. Galesburg, IL was the destination. The weather was rainy and cold for the first few days and the evening fire felt mighty good. Sunday and Monday was perfect for detecting. Clear sky and bright sun. The ground was soft, but not muddy. I put my BigFoot on and scoured the beach and came home with a few coins and then a lot of sinkers. :ranting: I have to say that I had a lot of fun on the beach. We ended up moving on and here's my keepers: 1897 - 1904 - 1905 - 1906 Indian Cents, 1916 Barber Dime, 9 Wheat Cents (oldest 1910), a gold plated locket, a small button, two advertising thimbles and a U S padlock. Rob found the oldest coin with a 1891 Indian, Larry found a 1906 Indian and we all came home with silver! :twodetecting::detecting: Thanks for looking and HH to all, Nancy

Hi Curt, I had my 9 1/2" stock coil on. It was a very clean yard. Specially after we got done with it. :wiggle: HH, Nancy

Wowwwww :jump: What a find... Yea! :clapping: Isn't it great to go out and find old coins and other old stuff like that.. It's more fun to find the old stuff rather than always finding the newer stuff.. Congrats to you both and the other crew that was with you.. :twodetecting: :twodetecting: :thumbup:

I'm on the road to Texas, so I don't have any pictures. I got a dozen wheat pennies with the oldest a 1910, I also got a 1891 Indian and a 64 quarter. I always have a good time with Larry and Nancy. The only down side was the rain the first few days and the 6 lbs I gained eating all the food Nancy made. :stars: Rob

Did I mention it got cold at night. This is me and my Godson The General.

Also did you get a chance to find any info on the lock? Rob

Very nice picture of you and your Godson. :) The padlock is a very common lock and it's not from the military. I still think it's cool looking. Sorry about the weight gain. It sure wasn't from lack of exercise. You and Larry worked long and hard for your finds. Nancy
