Week and a half with CTX Land, Sea and Lake

Initial thoughts: ( still after a week and half agree)

Built very well.
Balance is awesome after 3 hrs in the wet sand at the beach I could hardly tell I had been detecting.
I found the controls and menus very straight forward and easy to use.
Pin pointing and depth were dead on.
I had some trouble with the wireless syncing up which was frustrating, I figured out I could change channels, moving to a different channel fixed the syncing up part. Then, I still had no sound. That was user error my head phones were not fully connected. Speaking of headphones, even with volume at high, I found the stock headphones to be typical. Flat sound and poor noise canceling but certainly usable.( happened only that 1 time not an issue since so user error ) :drinking:

What you really want to know:

My settings: stock beach auto +2, combined audio, trash separation: Low Trash target trace and target trace pinpoint on. I tried fast on and deep on/off. My finds all clad, 33 coins, some were pretty encrusted and about 9" all in wet sand never hunted in the dry. Two really cool things, I found the target trace really locks onto the coins, the cursor response is different to trash hard to explain. I dug a quarter and a pull tab in the same scoop, the cool part was the audio was the coin the target trace hit both signals the id was the coin 12-45 dead on repeatable. I also had a hit that was 11-43 then 12-43, 11-45, 12-48 but the target trace was solid strong red line scooped out a dime, checked it again similar numbers scooped another dime, hit the whole again still there, scooped a penny and another and another 6 in all. Each time a coin came out the intensity dropped on the trace and the numbers stabilized. GREAT MACHINE, I know when I learn it it will be even sweeter. WORD OF CAUTION be careful the sand scratched my screen so GET A PROTECTOR BEFORE YOU USE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!! (picture with car is beach finds)

That was posted last week while I was at the beach, I came home and I hit an old park it dates back to 1910 or so. This is a medium sized park, it has been pound by every metal detector and detecting club since metal detecting started. My hunting buddy and I have had our explorer SE Pro and Etrac over this park and pulled very few coins. Some areas are very trashy and some are full of nails and iron. I hunted 2 days 2 area's of the park; I LOVE GEO hunt and find points that is so awesome to see your area's and hot spots AWESOME :clapping:. I managed to pull the coins shown in picture with out car 1 is a 51 wheat this is impressive cause we hardly pull clad or coins out of this park. I have some confidence and it grows with each hunt. I Know this park still holds keepers and with CTX I will find them. My settings stock coin with combined audio and sens a+2, high trash and ferrous-coin, traget trace and tt pp on, pinpoint sizing.

Then the last 2 days I hit a fresh water lake two hunts a few pull tabs a SILVER ring each time in the water. The KOSS Yellow Phones are ok. I will most likely buy a set of the much awaited modified GG's! Settings same as above but with low trash. I love the CTX and I am so glad I made the choice to buy it. Thursday we are going to one of our favorite lake spots for a 5hr hunt, I feel GOLD coming. Tommorrow back to the old park ! :detecting:
