WEEDS OF DISCONTENT.....But you,......pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, gentleness. (1 Timothy 6:11)........

My dad has weeding down to a science. Starting in the spring, he'll till the ground, mark off the rows, and set up the fences. Then we'll go through and lay down newspaper that we've saved all winter long. Next comes a layer of straw. On top of that, we set out tires in even rows. The tires are filled with soil and fertilizer from the neighbor's cow pasture. In these, we plant all our melons and squashes. Without any large areas of soil exposed, weeds don't take root. It's great!

When it's the soil of our hearts under cultivation, the crop we're hoping to reap is contentment. The efforts we put in early will prevent problems coming up later. A dependence on God as our only source of satisfaction, an attitude of thankfulness, and a trust that the Lord is working for our good----these keep the weeds of discontentment out of our lives.

I always like nature used in man's situations. Jesus did this all the time. What helps me to keep discontent away is that I know that God is directing my paths. Sure is hard sometimes but I know the bottom line , Steve in so az

That's one of the best practical applications of that verse I have heard of. It sure means a lot when put into that context. The smiley comes up cause the HTML code reads the colon and then the 8 as a smiley code. Try putting it in quotes next time, like this. "Romans 8:28"

God Bless!

...a package arrived today. I'll try to post a pic of a smile later. He loves the bracelet, the card and the poems. I can't wait until Sarah gets home because she loves to write poems too, and will enoy reading yours.

Thanks, Betty! And God bless!

I'm glad Brian likes everything and looking forward to more pics of your children's beautiful smiles! God has blessed you for sure!

Jesus taught in ways which gave understanding to those who followed Him and were His disciples! The older we get the more we have faith to stand until what we've asked for in prayer will be fulfilled! God knows our needs before we even ask but He wants us to ask and give Him thanks and praise for His glory!

God Bless!

started a book that you just cannot follow because the words take several minutes to figure out what they mean ? The Bible is written so anyone can understand it. Steve

and usually don't finish it! But the Bible is easy to understand when you are saved and have God's Holy Spirit revealing it to all who ask Him! Jesus spoke in Parables to His followers, but those who didn't believe would not understand! Thank You, Jesus for saving me!

God Bless!
